Maintenance mode

I would like to see this feature added as well, although it should be something you type into the lilypad console, like instead of "halt" you type "maintenance on" / "maintenance off"

I would personally think that it should rather be a plugin - I like the fact that LilyPad has been very vanilla since the start (doesn't have /server by default, etc). This would be sort of like adding a /tpa command to craftbukkit - some servers wouldn't want it at all, and can be done with plugins.

There is a plugin that will set the ping message to what ever you want and will not allow players to join the server. I'm not sure if this would work for the proxy though. The plugin is MaintenanceMode

I don't think it would, as LilyPad's ping message isn't Bukkit server side - but the whitelist of that plugin would work.

I should also mention Hypixel's server uses a modified BungeeCord. I've seen a plugin made for Bungee that functions like how @Matt wants this to.

Well obviously, yes. Matt was referencing a plugins' functionality from a server that doesn't even use LilyPad. I made the distinction for that reason.

Couldn't you just add this into the config as a true or false option? When true it would run a custom motd, custom kick message, and change the outdated version ping into a message saying Offline? Doesn't sound to complicated, and anyone who doesn't want it doesn't have to set it true in the config. Problem solved.

I also suggest moving this to lilypad requests. As this seems to be more related to the proxy then the server itself.

I personally vote it stays in this section and is turned into a plugin. If the proxy itself doesn't incorporate even simple things such as /server, I don't think that it should incorporate something as detailed as this.

But this being a plugin would not work properly because of the network IP pinging the proxy, instead of the individual servers themselves. Plus I would hate to have to add this to every server individually.

@About7Deaths maybe if you install it on one (like a hub), it can transform the entire proxy into it? I'm not sure.
